Darshan's arrest: Filmmakers mooting films to cash in on controversy

Kannada actor Darshan's arrest has shaken Sandalwood. The gory details of the murder of Renuswamy, allegedly at the behest of Darshan, have shocked many.

It seems some filmmakers want to cash in on the sensationalized presentation of the whole affair. Reports say that requests have been sent to the Kannada segment of the Film Chamger to register titles such as 'D-Gang', 'Pattanagere Shed', and 'Khaidi No 6106'.

So, why the title 'D-Gang'. "It is a derivation of Darshan’s moniker D-Boss. As for 'Pattanagere Shed', it is where the alleged murder of Renukaswamy took place," a report by HT says.

What is the significance of the number '6106'? It is the under-trial prisoner number assigned to the actor.

Some day, a film on Darshan's rise and fall will surely be made. One hopes that film won't whitewash him (if he is convicted).
