Kasireddy Bhaskar Reddy, a rights activist, has complained to the police that the Tummidi Kunta Cheruvu had been encroached upon by Akkineni Nagarjuna in constructing the N-Convention centre, which was demolished recently by the HYDRAA. Bhaskar Reddy stated in the complaint that criminal proceedings should be initiated immediately against Nagarjuna for allegedly occupying Tammidi Kunta in the Hi-Tech City area in purusit of profits.
As per the complainant, the North Tanks Division of Irrigation Department gave a report that N-Convention had been constructed by occupying 3 acres and 30 guntas of land at the lake's FTL buffer zone site. The complaint stated that they had encroached upon pond land worth hundreds of crores, violated revenue and irrigation laws, and destroyed the environment.
The other day, Nagarjuna stated that he will file a criminal defamation suit against Telangana Forest Minister Konda Surekha over her derogatory remarks about his family. The latest case against Nag is said to be an act of political vendetta.
