Muthayya (K Sudhakar Reddy) shows his determination to act in a movie. He is hellbent on realizing his dream come what may. Malli, a mechanic shop owner, is his comrade. When they come across a short-film crew, Muthayya decides to invest Rs 1 lakh to act in a short film fronted by him. When he sets out to pool the money, he realizes it's not easy. What consequences this has for him and his family members is what the film is about.
It's never too late to dream big is the underlying theme of the rural comedy drama.
Recently, two songs were separately released online by Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Vijay Deverakonda.
Directed by Bhaskhar Maurya, Muthayya also features Arun Raj, Poorna Chandra, and Mounika Bomma. Sai Leela, Kiran Kumar and Jayavardhan Sagar also feature in the film.
Muthayya has won the Best Indian Film Award at the Kolkata International Film Festival 2022. Earlier, it won international acclaim. Bankrolled by Vamsi Karumanchi and Vrinda Prasad of HY Life Entertainments Private Limited and Fictionary Entertainment LLP, Muthayya has cinematography by Divakar Mani.
