The Bollywood historical action film Chhaava hit the theatres on February 14. Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna are its lead pair. So, how is the film as per the critics fraternity? Let's find out.

NDTV feels that Chhaava is over-the-top. "Despite a pair of noteworthy performances from lead actor Vicky Kaushal and Akshaye Khanna as the antagonist, the film falls apart at the seams because it has little to hold it together apart from its unabashed obsession with excess," its film critic opined.

Indian Express opined that the film is an exhausting blur. As per The Hindu, there is so much intrigue in the motives of different characters but the same "seldom translates into something substantial on screen". The newspaper further opined, "Amidst the war cries, the narrative jumps from one cutting-and-chopping exercise on the battlefield to the other."

Also starring Ashutosh Rana, Divya Dutta, Vineet Singh, Diana Penty, Neil Bhoopalam, Chhaava is helmed by Laxman Utekar. Vicky Kaushal plays Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and Rashmika plays Maharani Yesubai.
