Speaking at the pre-release event of They Call Him OG, Pawan Kalyan praised Sujeeth and his direction team to the skies. He went to the extent of saying that a similar directorial team in his career would have managed to keep him away from politics. The Power Star also said that he decided to arrive for the event in the costume of his OG character only because of Sujeeth. He stylistically broke into the Washi O Washi poem from the movie in a concert-style environment.

"Sujeeth is no ordinary fan of mine. It was Trivikram who recommended that I work with Sujeeth after Saaho. He explains less and executes more. His narration is piecemeal. He gives a broad outline of the get-up and all. It's only when he starts the execution part do you understand his calibre. The first credit for OG should go to Sujeeth. Thaman played an instrumental role in materializing Sujeeth's vision. The duo poured so much into the movie that they today made me forget that I am a Deputy CM. I stormed into the event with a sword in my hand. The action and the stylish treatment in OG are so good. The visuals are classic. Priyanka Mohan has the '80s style look in the movie. The length of the love story is limited, but the treatment is poetic. Ravi K Chandran garu has captured the visuals poetically. The kind of josh for OG reminds me of the Kushi days," Pawan Kalyan said.

In his speech, he described Emraan Hashmi as a brilliant performer. Pawan Kalyan further said that when he is working on a movie, he immerses himself totally.

Meanwhile, OG is smashing records. It has entered into the 2 million-dollar club in North America with Premieres. "The trailer is yet to come… but the records have already started. North America Premieres pre sales crossed 70K+ tickets," wrote Prathyangira Cinemas. The worldwide Day 1 gross, at the time of writing, grossed Rs 32 Cr.

OG is produced by DVV Danayya and Kalyan Dasari. Sriya Reddy, Prakash Raj and others are part of the cast.
