SS Rajamouli's interview about RRR

'Roudram Ranam Rudhiram' will be released in theatres on January 7 next year. On Saturday, director SS Rajamouli, and his two heroes interacted with the Hyderabad-based media to talk about their magnum opus. Here we bring you the highlights of what Rajamouli said on the occasion.

The first shot that I filmed on Tarak and Charan is the bike scene you have seen in the trailer. When I watched them together, I was sure that they will surely do justice to the friendship element in the movie.

'RRR' is not a patriotic drama. It's essentially the friendship that develops and evolves between Komaram Bheem and Alluri.

The star attractions of 'RRR' will draw the audiences to theatres. But once the film starts playing on the big screen, the audience are going to see only actor Tarak and actor Charan, not Young Tiger NTR and Mega Power Star Charan.

I am never short on ideas. I have a bunch of them in my head. The challenge essentially is the execution part. I subject my technicians and actors to a lot of torture for that!

I have been inspired by Amar Chitra Katha books, English language literature by the likes of Sydney Sheldon, books like Bala Mitra, Bommarillu and Chandamama since my childhood. I owe my imaginative prowess to them.

'RRR' is completely a fictional tale. It's not historical. It is not a biopic. It has no reincarnation story.

There is no romance in the movie. There is only bromance (between Bheem and Alluri).

As of now, we have no plans to hold paid premieres in the Telugu States on January 6. For that, we have to talk with distributors. Producer Danayya garu might look into it.

Every single hero wants to do multi-starrers. But many of them back off for want of good stories or because they have apprehensions about fans' reactions. After 'RRR', I sincerely hope many more multi-starrers will be made in Telugu cinema.
