'Razakar', directed by Yata Satyanarayana, has been made as a period drama telling the story of the liberation of Hyderabad from the Nizams in 1948. Sardar Vallabhai Patel is the hero of this movie based on history. Co-starring Bobby Simha, Vedika, Anushreya Tripathi, Prema, Indraja and Makarand Desh Pandey, the film is produced by Samarveer Creations' Guduru Narayana Reddy. The film will hit the cinemas on March 1.

Speaking at the movie's trailer launch event, veteran director K Raghavendra Rao said that the sacrifices of our ancestors have to be conveyed to youths through films like this one. He revealed that director Yata Satyanarayana is his disciple. The 'Annamayya' director said that there would have been extreme instability but for the bold Vallabhbhai Patel.

Story writer JK Bharavi said that 'Razakar' couldn't have been made in a better way by any pan-Indian filmmaker. He is confident that the film will further boost the image of the Telugu film industry.

Popular saint Radha Manohar Das said that the trailer for 'Razakar' made him both emotional and sad. "If we forget history, we are doomed. It has not even been a hundred years since these events took place," he said, adding that films like 'The Kashmir Files' and 'Kerala Files' are needed so that the new generation knows how to avoid history from recurring.

Director Yata Satyanarayana said that he owes his career to Raghavendra Rao and that he would have been nothing without him. He suggested that there have been threats not to make a film like 'Razakar'. "This film is dedicated not only to Hyderabad but to India and to everyone who has been oppressed in the world. The media should take this picture to the people," he said. Interestingly, he opined that film critics must desist from rating the movie. "History can't be rated," he added.

Producer Guduru Narayana Reddy said that the idea is to prevent the rise of Razakar-like forces in our country. The film shows the beatings and whippings, killings and vandalisms resorted to by the Razakars. He didn't mind selling off his properties to make the film.

Anasuya Bharadwaj said that it was great that the film features the likes of Indraja, Prema, Vedika, Simha, and Makarand Deshpande.
