The makers of Thandel have claimed that their movie grossed about Rs 105 Cr since its release on February 7. In the 10-day period, the movie is said to have collected much less in reality.
As per a trade analyst, Thandel's gross stands at about Rs 75 Cr, a good Rs 30 Cr less than what has been claimed by the makers. If true, then, the film is yet to attain the 'hit' status. It will, though. But it is not a hit movie yet.
Thandel is learned to have earned a bomb by the way of its OTT rights. Considering this figure, the movie has fetched cool returns from its theatrical and non-theatrical avenues combined. But the theatrical revenues in isolation are far from what they are advertised to be, it would seem from trade reports.
Thandel has flunked at the Hindi box office pretty badly. The Naga Chaitanya-Sai Pallavi movie failed to make any mark in Hindi, robbing the Akkineni hero of any opportunity to break into the northern Indian market.
